I wanted to get something I could wear after our son committed suicide. I saw this bracelet in an ad on Facebook and thought it was perfect. When I got it, I looked at it and cried. Those horrible thoughts came rushing back, but I know he's in a better place. Our son never told anyone what he was going through. My husband, who is a psychologist, never saw any of the signs. Our niece, who was very close to our son, who is a Mental Health Counselor, never saw any of the signs. He was that good. One thing about the bracelet, on the main charm, it says Suicide Awareness, but it is very difficult to see "Awareness" because it's on the bail. I think it should be redesigned to let people see the "awareness" word. That's what this is all about, isn't it?

Everyone knows that my daughter passed from suicide. I finally went out to see friends and wore the bracelet. EVERYONE ASKED WERE DID I GET IT! I SHOWED THEM THAT IT WASFOR SUICIDE AWARENESS AND THEY ALL ORDERED ONE IN MEMORY OF MY DAUGHER NICHOLE WHO PASSED IN 2005 at the age of 27.

I bought it in memory of my youngest sons friend who served in the U.S.Army and committed suicide after discharge from the service after several tours overseas. He had been under medication and had under gone council in as well but his pain was more than he could bear and for him suicide was the only relief he thought would free him from the pain. It still haunts us all who knew him. He was bright,funny and loving but war changed that and he got lost in the emotional pain.
